Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to check the battery usage on a HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on.
We can do this by pressing the Power button. This button is located on the top of the phone, on the right-hand side.
Next we will unlock the phone.
Pressing the Power button has opened the Lock screen. From here we will press down on the screen, hold down, and then swipe up. Two white padlocks will appear as we are holding down, prompting us to swipe upwards.
Once the phone is unlocked, we will need to go to the Settings menu.
To find this menu, swipe down from the top of the screen to the bottom to reveal the Notifications panel.
Tap the white cog icon.
This icon is featured in the top, right-hand corner of the screen and will open the Settings menu.
Scroll down to the section labeled 'Power', and tap on it.
This will bring up to the 'Power' screen. This section is labeled with the word 'Power', written in black. A battery symbol with an electrical symbol inside of it will be to the left of this word.
Press down on the option labeled 'Battery usage'.
This text will be written in black, with the words 'View battery usage' underneath of it.
We will now be shown all of the applications and systems that are using the battery on our HTC One M8.
The amount of items located on this screen will depend on the amount of things currently happening on our device.
To check how much battery is being used during a particular period of time, press down on the word 'Battery usage history'.
This will be located at the top of the screen, written in white. This will open a menu box presenting us various times to pick from.
For example purposes, we will press down on the past '2 days' option.
This will change the usage amounts to show us what the past 2 days have looked like. In our case, the amounts have not changed much.
We can then go back to the top icon labeled 'Battery usage history', press it, and choose 'All' once again to return to the original setting.
To check a particular system or application usage, we can press down on it.
For example, we will press down on the 'Internet' option. This will give us more information on this applications usage.
Press the Back icon to return to the previous screen.
It is represented by a white arrow featured in the left hand, bottom corner of the screen.
To check what applications or systems are using the battery when the phone is turned off, we can swipe to the left.
The words 'SCREEN OFF' will now appear at the top of the screen. Any application or element on this page is using the battery when the phone is turned off.
We can swipe left again to see which elements or applications are using the battery when the screen is on.
We will know we are on the right screen when we can see the words 'SCREEN ON' at the top. Each phone will show different options, depending on what applications and elements are running. Non-essential applications or elements may also be turned on or off. We will not be demonstrating this in this video, this is due to the fact all applications or elements currently on this phone are essential.
This then concludes our tutorial on how to check battery usage on a HTC One M8.
