A lot of people likes to travel, either for leisure or business, if you are not familiar with the transportation in England, Wales and Scotland specially if it is your first time travelling around this places then this article would be helpful for you to guide you on what you can use and where you can check schedule of transportation and what is the right transportation on your destination.

Check Bus/Coach Times and Bus/Coach Numbers for the UK (England, Wales and Scotland)

To check train times and fares for England, Wales and Scotland you have to use the http:// http://www.transportdirect.info

  • From this site, click on 'Find a Bus' on the left hand side under Plan a Journey category

Then you will be directed to the screen where you can put your departure and arrival location, like the example below:

  • If you have a specific post code or address tick on Address/ postcode
  • If you have a specific station / airport location then tick this option
  • If you are unsure of your spelling you can tick the 'Unsure of Spelling' box
  • Then select the date and time of departure you prefer and if you want to check the schedule and purchase a ticket for your return in advance you may also fill up the Return on and select your date and time of return
  • Then click 'Next'

  • If you have any specific location like for example in Bedford choose your selection from the drop down or you can also the type of location same applies to your arrival location.
  • Then click 'Next'
  • If your location is just around the Town it will say Bus routes but if your location is a long journey it will be a Coach like in our example.

  • You can select the available schedule from here or if you want to make changes all you have to do is click on 'Amend' on the upper right side. If you want to search for another location or schedule you may also click on 'New Search' to start anew.
  • If you did not select any return journeys then it will only show the Outward Journey. If Return Journey was selected then the return journey schedule will show below when you scroll down on the site.
  • This will also show which Bus or Coach number you will need for the specific time and date under the Bus / Coach image you will find the number.
  • To select just tick the schedule you prefer and then click on it then it will show the Bus number.
  • If you want to check the fare costs you may also click on Tickets/Costs, but not all Bus and Coach has their prices it will redirect you to other site to provide you the cost and if you want to purchase the ticket.
  • If you want to receive text messages on your mobile regarding this route and if you want to check for available taxi numbers upon arrival you may also use the code that says SMS.
