You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to change the system language to English on an iPad Air 2. Please note that no matter what language you have set on your iPad, this tutorial will show you exactly how to change it back into English. Now, let's get started. In this tutorial, this tablet has the simplified Chinese language set up. Those of you who can read Chinese will know what to do. Everyone else will not be able to read the menu options.
You should look for the "Settings" icon and then tap on it.
It is in the bottom-left corner of the screen in this video. However, it could be anywhere on your iPad: it might even be on another home page or in a folder. No matter where it is, find a gear-shaped icon with a circular set of gears and a gray silver box. Tapping on this icon will open the settings menu. It does not matter what you see or what the options show.
You need to count seven options from above on the left side.
In other words, the sequence of the icons is: orange, blue, blue, red, gray, purple, and gray. There is another gear-shaped icon. This is the settings panel.
Tap on the settings-panel icon.
It is the same as the one from the home screen. Next, you will see the settings menu on the right side of the screen.
Scroll down until you get to the area where you can change the language and keyboard.
Since you may not be able to read Chinese, let's count the sections. In the 6th section, you need to find the last option. Overall, it is the 15th option from above.
Now, tap on the 15th option.
Tap on the first option, "iPad...".
This will allow you to change the language. You will see that everything is listed in Chinese, and you also have the listing of the languages in their native formats. For example, "Espanol", "Italiano", "Netherlands", "Deutsch", "Francais", and English.
Let's tap on "English".
It can be your native language. When you tap on "English", you'll change the system language back to English.
You can tap on "Cancel" or "Change".
The top-left option is "Cancel". The top-right option is "Change". Tap on the right-hand one. You'll be given the option to change the language.
You can tap on "No" or "Yes".
If you want to choose "Yes", you should tap on the right-side option. The language will be set up. After a moment, the iPad will turn back on, and the language will be back to English.
You can tilt or spin the iPad to adjust the screen orientation.
The iPad language has been set back to English.
You can tap on "iPad Language" once more.
You can tap on a specific dialect of English to select it.
There are American, Canadian, Australian, Indian, and British dialects.
You can just tap on "Cancel" too.
You may want change the languages from the "PREFERRED LANGUAGE ORDER" section.
In this video, there are English, simplified Chinese, and Russian languages. There is a separate tutorial in which we discuss how to do that.
