    To begin, open the VisualBoyAdvance emulator.
    I have an icon for the emulator on my desktop, but you may have the program saved in another location.

    When the emulator is open, click "File" in the menu at the top of the window.

    In the drop down menu, click "Open" to select a game.
    For this tutorial, I will open the game "Pokemon".

    I currently have the screenshot shortcut set to "Shift+f12".
    If I press that shortcut now, you will see a screenshot thumbnail appears on my desktop. The current format or file type for this screenshot is "PNG".

    To change the format, click "Options" in the menu at the top of the screen.

    In the drop down menu, go to "Emulator".

    Then, choose the format at the bottom of the expanded menu.
    There are two options: "PNG" and "BMP". For this tutorial, I will select "BMP" by clicking on "BMP format" once.

    If I take another screenshot by pressing "Shift+f12", another screenshot will be saved to my desktop as a ".bmp" image.
    Change these settings according to your preference.
