Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to change the computer name on Windows 8 computers.
Move the mouse cursor to the lower-left corner of the screen and right-click there.
In the menu that opens, click "System".
In this window, find "Change settings".
It's in the "Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings" section. Click "Change settings".
In the "System Properties" menu that opens, click "Change".
Change the computer name.
In our case, it already has a name, but we're going to change it. In the field labeled "Computer name", type a new name. We will type "VisiHow-PC".
The system will tell us, "You must restart your computer to apply these changes".
Close the "System Properties" window by clicking on the "X" in the top right corner.
The system will prompt us to "Restart Now" or "Restart Later".
Choose "Restart Now" for the changes to take effect immediately.
Choose "Restart Later" and then restart manually when convenient. In this example, we are going to click "Restart Later".
Close the "System" window by clicking the "X" in the top right corner, if restarting later.
This concludes our tutorial on how to change your computer name on Windows 8 computers.
