In order to set a custom name for your mobile hotspot, you'll need to open the notifications panel of your Galaxy Tab.
To do this, simply swipe down from the top of the screen and then locate the gear-shaped settings icon. Give this icon a single tap to open the Settings menu.
On the left side of the Settings menu, tap "Mobile hotspot and tethering".
This will open the "Mobile hotspot and tethering" menu.
Now, tap the very first option, which is "Mobile Hotspot".
Once you have tapped "Mobile Hotspot", you will see the name of the device.
On my screen, it is "AndroidAP".
From here, click on "MORE", which is located at the top right corner of the screen.
Then, select the middle option, which is "Configure Mobile Hotspot".
A popup box will appear on your screen showing the name "AndroidAP", which can be edited.
To change the name, press the backspace button on the keypad.
Then, you can enter a new name.
For this tutorial, I will type in "VisiHow".
When you are ready, click on "SAVE".
You will notice that the new Mobile Hotspot name will appear.
