Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to change the update schedule for the HTC One M8 weather service.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen, and at the bottom of the screen, we will see several icons.
We now need to find the Settings menu, and to do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down.
To open the Notification panel, start at the top of the screen, and swipe downwards.
Now, we can see that the Notification panel has appeared.
We are looking for the icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
It is a white cog icon. This is our Settings icon.
Press down on this icon, and it will open our "Settings" menu.
As we can see, it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
Now, let's scroll down to the "PERSONAL" section, which is indicated by the word "PERSONAL" in the gray bar.
We are looking for the second option that says, "Accounts & sync".
Next to these words is an icon of a small gray circle surrounded by two gray arrows that make another circle.
Press down on "Accounts & sync", and it will open that menu.
We want the second option.
It says, "HTC Weather Service", and next to these words is a yellow sun with some white clouds.
Press down on this section, and it will open up the "HTC Weather Service" menu.
Press down on the "General Settings" section just under the gray bar with the same name.
Now, we can see two options, and we want the one at the bottom that says, "Update schedule".
It is currently set to "Every 1 hour", so this application is updated every hour.
Press down on this option, and it will bring up a list of different options for the "Update schedule".
We have "Every 1 hour", "Every 2 hours", "Every 3 hours", "Every 6 hours", "Every 12 hours", or "Once a day". This depends on how often we'll need to look at or check the weather on the HTC One M8. It also depends on how much data we have. The fewer updates there are, the less data this application will be using. Three hours is a fairly good choice.
Choose an option by pressing down on it.
Now, we can see, the option has been changed under "Update schedule" to "Every 3 hours".
Press down on the option again, and we can see that the blue circle has moved to "Every 3 hours".
We can change the option again by pressing down on another choice if desired.
This concludes our tutorial on how to change the update schedule for the HTC One M8's weather service.
