Hello, you are watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to change a profile picture in Skype on the iPhone 6.
Press the lock button on the right side of the phone to turn the screen on and display the lock screen.
Alternatively, press the Home button at the bottom of the phone.
Swipe from left to right and enter a passcode or, if the option is enabled, press a finger on the Home button to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone.
Find and tap the Skype icon to open the Skype application.
The icon has a blue background with the Skype logo on it in white, which is a circle with a blue "S" in it. The app will either open to the recent contacts screen or the sign in screen. Please refer to the video on VisiHow on how to sign in to Skype for more details on signing into the app.
Tap the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
The profile icon is a small circle with the current profile picture in it.
Tap the current photo at the top of the profile page to view the profile photo options menu.
We will have the option to take a photo or choose an existing photo from the photos on the phone. We will review both options.
Tap "take photo" to use the camera to take a new photo to use for the profile photo.
Tap the switch camera icon in the top right corner of the screen to change between the front camera and the back camera.
Tap the capture icon to take a photo.
The capture icon is the white circle at the bottom of the screen in portrait mode, or on the right side of the phone in landscape mode. The camera functions in the same way as if you were using the Camera application.
Tap "Retake" in the bottom left corner of the screen to retake the photo.
Tap "Use Photo" in the bottom right corner of the screen to use the photo as the new profile photo.
To choose an existing photo, tap the current photo at the top of the profile page.
Tap "choose existing photo" to select a photo from the photos saved on the phone.
This will bring up the Camera Roll. Navigate through the folders to find a photo to use.
Tap a photo to set it as the new profile photo.
Tap "Cancel" to return to the Camera Roll.
Tap "Choose" to use the selected photo as the new profile photo.
The new photo will now appear in the current photo circle in the Skype profile page.
Tap the white back arrow in the top left corner of the screen to return to the original screen.
