Change Notification Sound on HTC One M8
Thor, Rushell, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to change the notification sound on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen, hold down until two padlock icons appear, then swipe up
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen
At the bottom, we will see several icons. We now need to find the Settings menu, and to do that, we need to swipe the Notification Panel down.
Press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down
Then we will see that the Notification Panel has appeared.
We want the icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen
There is a white cog icon, and this is the Settings icon. Press down on this, and it's going to open up the Settings menu.
At the top left-hand corner it says the word "Settings"
Scroll down just a bit to the "PERSONAL" section
The word "PERSONAL" will appear in the gray bar.
Directly underneath the gray bar, it says the word "Personalize"
To the left of this word, there is an icon of a phone with a paintbrush inside.
Press down on "Personalize", and it will take us into those options
Scroll all the way down to the bottom to reach the "SOUND" section, which displays the word "SOUND" in the gray bar
We want the second option from the bottom, where it says "Notification sound"
The current sound is set to "Lotus". This is the current notification sound, and in this video, we will demonstrate how to change this.
Let's press down on the "Notification sound" option to enter the menu
We can scroll up and down through the options by pressing down on the screen and swiping up and down to see all of the options
This is for the notification sound. Whenever we receive a notification, this is the sound we'll hear.
To listen to one of the sounds, just press down on one of the names
for this example, we'll tap on "Boxwood". It will play the sound right after we press down on it.
Press down on another sound, "Button" for example, to hear it as well
Continue pressing on the sound names to hear as many as desired. This is how to listen to all of the sounds, so go through them and find one that is preferred.
When satisfied, first make sure that there is a green circle on the right side of the screen across from the sound
This indicates that sound is selected.
When we're happy with our choice, we can press down on "APPLY" in the large gray bar at the bottom of the screen
Now, that choice is selected, and where it says "Notification sound", it now says the word "Carnation", which is the option we just selected
Now, this will be our notification sound. Anytime we receive a notification, this is the sound we shall hear.
This concludes our tutorial on how to change the notification sound on an HTC One M8
