You're watching VisiHow. In the previous tutorial, we disabled automatic Flash loading on web pages. This is a tutorial on how to change the default download folder in Google Chrome.
Make sure Chrome is running.
Click the hot-dog menu.
It is in top-right corner of the window. You will find three horizontal bars.
Once "Settings" loads, scroll to the bottom of the page.
Click "Show advanced settings..."
Then, scroll down until you see the "Downloads" options.
Click the "Change..." button.
You can change the folder into which Chrome downloads files. A window will pop up.
You can click the folder to select it.
You can even add a new folder.
For this tutorial, let's name the folder "VisiHow demo".
Then, click "Create" or press "enter" on your keyboard.
You can also check the option "Ask where to save each file before downloading".
If you have this option checked, Chrome won't use the default download location.
For example, open a page where you can download a file.
For this tutorial, there is "Creative Commons" account loaded up on Soundcloud. Let's click the tab.
You can click the icon to download the track.
A dialogue box will open, offering you to select the download location.
For now, let's click "Cancel".
Click the "Settings" tab again.
Uncheck "Ask where to save each file before downloading".
Come back to the page where you can download files.
Download a file again.
It will be downloaded into the default location, which you will have set up as "VisiHow demo".
Then, click the arrow next to the name of the downloaded file at the bottom of the window.
Next, click "Show in Folder".
Chrome will show you that the file will have been downloaded to the default location labeled "VisiHow demo".
