Change Android Keyboard

You are watching VisiHow and today, we are going to teach you how to change the keyboard on your Samsung Galaxy S5, or S5 Mini running the Android operating system.Press the lock button on the right hand side one time. This is going to open up your phone.
Once your phone is open, we are going to swipe across the lock screen.
One swipe across the lock screen will take you to the home screen. You may need to enter a pass-code or pin depending on your phone and how your security is set up but that is okay.
Now there are three different ways that we can access the keyboard settings on the Android phone.
The first is by swiping down from the top which will open up the notifications panel.
On the notifications panel, we will then tap settings.
Once you tap settings, it will open the settings menu
and we are going to scroll all the way down to the system section where we will then tap on this gray circle with an "A" which will open up the Language and Input Menu.
Once we are in the Language and Input Menu, we will then tap the gear shaped icon for Samsung Keyboard.
This will bring us to the menu where we will be able to select Input Languages which will allow us to change the keyboard.
Now, let me show you another way to do this.
Press the Home Button one time. Bottom oval shaped button at the bottom of your phone. Single press will take you back to the Home screen.
Once you are on the Home screen.
Look down to the lower right hand side and find the Apps button. The apps icon - one tap - that will open up your applications folder. All of the applications on your device are listed here.
Scroll around until you find the settings icon.
It is a gear shaped icon just like the one on our notifications panel. A single press on that will open up the notifications panel.
and exactly as you did before, you will scroll down to the System section.
Tap on Language and Input
and then one time, you will tap on the Samsung Keyboard - gear shaped icon
which again will bring you to the Keyboard Menu.
There is one other method to do this as well.
Again press the Home button, the oval shaped button at the bottom of your phone. One press will take you back to the Home screen.
Now what you will do is tap on the Messages icon
and then once you have tapped messages, you are going to tap on "New message".
New message will open up the Message window.
When you tap that message window, you will notice there is a little keyboard shaped icon that appears on the upper left hand corner of your phone.
That will bring up "Choose input method".
You want to use the Samsung Keypad. Set up input method.
This will take you directly to the Language and Input section for your keyboard, you will then press the keyboard button, the settings button one time
And that will open up the option for you to change the language and input setting.
Now what we are going to do is set "Select input languages".
One tap is going to allow us to choose the languages.
As you can see here, I have got new languages available which I can download should I choose to do so.
I am going to do that later so I am not terribly worried about it. I am just going to go ahead and press OK. OK and later do the same thing.
If I like to, I can tap to update these but I am not going to do that.
Instead, I am going to add Russian which will appear as "rooski" as opposed to actually being under "R" as English would be.
And I am going to enter the Georgian script which is "Kartouli".
These are two languages that I use. If I wanted to enter in Arabic or Persian or Chinese, I could enter those as well noting that they all appear in their own distinct languages.
However, I have tapped the two languages I want.
Now I can simply go back
and you can see, I have these three languages set up now.
A single press on the Home screen will take me back to the Home menu.
If I tap on once more on Messages I will have my new message up as we had before.
And I can either press and hold the keyboard to swipe the languages.
Now I have the Georgian Language.
Again I can press and hold the keyboard and moving right or left across the keyboard allows you to see there is Russian - "Rooski".
There is Georgian "Kartouli".
And there is English(US).
I can also simply swipe one time rather than pressing and holding.
This is how you change the languages on the keyboard.
Notice that each time I change it, the keyboard itself changes as well.Let us press the Home button one more time to get back to our Home screen.
And now we are back on the Home screen.
This concludes our tutorial on how to change the Keyboard language on your Samsung Galaxy S5, or S5 Mini running the Android Operating System.
