I think I may have damaged my voice permanently. Is there any way to repair it?

I've been preparing for this singing contest and there is this one note that I can reach at times, but I will have to strain my voice. I have been practicing for about a month, but then after, I tried singing again, the high notes I used to hit I could not do anymore. My voice just makes screeching sounds.

Warm water and vocal rest are needed to reduce the inflammation you have created on your vocal chords. All vocal coaches will tell you to sing comfortably within your range, especially for a performance. If you have not recovered before the singing contest, pick a song within your current vocal range. A song executed poorly will not be remembered and most people untrained musically in the audience can tell when someone is reaching too high for a note, so imagine how the judges cringe to that behavior.

I haven't used my voice for about 2 months, is singing too much?

For 2 months after dental treatment I haven't been using my voice much, which means I haven't been speaking much either (was overseas). I feel my throat is tightening up, but this maybe cause of anxiety. I did a bit of singing, the voice came out nice, but I felt a lot of tension/strain. Then I just got the idea and started reading books out loud to train talking level first. Can singing suddenly after 2 months of using voice less, cause damage to the throat or vocal cords?

Can I harm my singing voice permanently in a shouting session?

Hello, I'm 18 and I sing in a rock band. I used to have a higher pitch voice, but now every time I try to reach a higher note, only a terrible squeak comes out. Now I mess up a lot when singing, something that before didn't happen. How can I recover? Is there any exercises that I can do to have the control again?. I have tried: Nothing actually, just to try better and practice with piano.. I think it was caused by: Shouting in a concert, I growled and everything. Later, I was talking like Batman, which I kept doing because it was funny.
