Can my tab 3 connect to an HDTV?

I recently purchased the Samsung HDTV adapter and it works for my Galaxy S3 but only shows a docking notification on my tab 3 and does not recognize on my TV screen. Is it possible to connect?

Based to what you have described that it works with your Samsung Galaxy S3. However, it is not working on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 as it is not being recognized or being mirrored on your big screen. I believe that you have a ET-H10FAUW known as MHL adapter made by Samsung.

Did you know that MHL adapter made by Samsung has a compatibility list as well to their own products. This is only normal that your Galaxy Tab 3 did not work since it is not being supported, see the list of supported devices for your MHL Samsung HD Adapter:

Unfortunately, the Galaxy tab 3 7 inch variation of the Tablet does not have HDMI out features built in. Samsung offers a MHL to HDMI adapter but that is only available on their 8 and 10 inch Tablet versions.
