In the following tutorial, we'll go through the steps on how to backup a Galaxy S8 with a Samsung account, Google account, and by copying files/folders to a PC. For this article, we used a Samsung Galaxy S8 running Android Nougat.

Back Up Galaxy S8 to Samsung Cloud

    On the home screen, swipe up to access the app drawer.

    From the app drawer, tap "Settings".

    On the SETTINGS screen, tap "Cloud and accounts".

    On the BACKUP SETTINGS screen, toggle the switch the next to the apps you wish to backup, then tap "BACK UP NOW"

    You can also select "AUTO BACKUP", which will automatically backup the data for each app selected below.

    To restore your data, navigate to the Samsung CLOUD screen, and tap "Restore".

    On the RESTORE screen, first select the appropriate device by tapping the drop-down arrow under the "SELECT DEVICE" section.

    Once you've selected the correct device, toggle the switches next to the apps you want to be restored, then tap "RESTORE NOW".

Back Up S8 to a PC

    Connect your device to your computer using the appropriate USB cable
