Questions and Answers

How to back up calendar, how to retrieve all data that has already been backed up ("synced")?

I know how to sync (backup) each night but I don't know how to retrieve what has been backed up. Also, I don't see how to back up the calendar- it does not come up as an option to choose in my settings

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

You need to make sure first that you have actually set your calendar to save the data onto your device and that you include the folder containing that when backing up. There are specific settings that are considered default, and in order to change that, you need to make adjustments.

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

Retrieving what you've synced depends on where you sync your device. If you are doing that with your computer, you should check which folder you allocated for syncing.

Samsung S5 safe mode reboot or faulty phone?

My Samsung S5 has performed well until last week when it went into what I can describe as safe mode. . I think the battery did something and the screen threw up the green Android man and some technical info in the top left screen. It eventually rebooted once EE my network provider sent a refresh to the SIM but it has done the same thing twice despite me purchasing a new Samsung battery. I am now trying to back up all my data in fear of this phone dying on me. Is the phone corrupted or is there a fix . I've tried connecting to Kies and updating but can't see how too. I have tried: Tried to connect to Kies and update software can't seem too. I think it was caused by: It appeared the original battery may have overheated and shutdown phone into safe mode - the screen said unable to reboot safe mode

My phone keeps rebooting. What can I do to fix this?

Today I turned my phone off to charge for 15 minutes. Since I turned it back on the phone it is constantly rebooting every few seconds and I can't use it. I haven't downloaded or updated any apps recently. The battery may be a tiny bit swollen but I'm on 100% sure. It charges fine when it's turned off and doesn't disconnect, but as soon as I turn the phone on it restarts itself.

My screen is completely black and won't show anything but I need to backup my photos! What can I do?

This same thing happened to my husband last week. His screen was completely black, but I was able to backup everything on his phone using Samsung Kies3. Download the free Samsung Kies3 program on your computer, after it is done installing, turn on your phone and connect your phone charger USB cord to your computer. Samsung Kies3 should automatically detect your phone. If you have never connected your phone to your computer, it may have to install a device driver on your computer, but it should automatically do that on its own when your plug your phone into your computer. Once your device is connected to Samsung Kies3 you will see a backup and restore tab at the top. Click the backup and restore button and choose what you want to backup from your phone and then your photos will be backed up. You will be able to choose the location you want your backup. I recommend backing up to a folder on your computer and after that burn your photos to a DVD or a flash drive, then they are secure if your computer breaks you will have your photos somewhere else. Hope this works for you!

Hello, I am having a problem with my Galaxy S5 constantly rebooting?

Is backing up to Gmail enough?

No, it's not always enough. Setting up a backup to your Google account is useful but won't protect you from everything. This is because a backup using your Google account only contains your contacts and pictures.
