Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to add and remove the time and date from a panel or home screen on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen.
Hold down, and swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen.
On the home screen, we can open our editing options by pressing down on any of the panels with two fingers, and swiping them together.
It will bring up our options to add or remove things from our home screen panels.
First, we need to be in the widget section.
Right here, it says the word "Shortcuts". We may see different words because we may be in different menus. It could say, "Widgets", "Apps", or "Shortcuts". Press down on the word. It will bring up a menu.
We want to press the word "Widgets" at the top, in white writing.
Now, we need to choose the panel we want to use as our home screen, to which we will add the clock with the time and date.
We can choose one of these panels as our home screen, by scrolling across, and pressing down on the one we want to use.
We can see the one we selected is highlighted in a blue outline.
This means that it's the one that is active. It's the one we'll be working with. Make sure that we can see this blue outline on the right panel.
Now, scroll down to find a widget to add.
We can find some different variations and styles of the time and date widget. Here we are. There are a variety of clock types and sizes. Be sure to look at the size in each of the different widgets. It says this weather clock is '4x2' Which is quite big. It takes up a lot of space. Widgets that are '1x1' are very small. Choose one that is right for you. We are going to add it to the panel we've highlighted, by pressing down on the widget. Press down on it.
It will ask us to choose our location.
We can use one of the pre-existing ones, add it manually or use current location. The phone would find our current location and tell us the weather based on where we are. Choose our city.
We are going to see that the widget has been pinned to the highlighted panel.
We are now finished with this area. Press down on the panel we have been working with. We will see the panel, with the time, date, and weather widget.
Now, we'll learn how to remove the time and date widget from this panel.
To do that, press and hold down on the widget. Once it is activated, we will feel a vibration, and the widget will turn transparent, allowing us to move it around.
There are two options on the top.
On the right, at the top, is the word "REMOVE" in white writing, with a white trash can next to the word. If we drag the widget up to the "REMOVE" area, it will turn red. Just by touching it with the icon, it turns red. When it's red, it means it's ready to be removed. Just let it go, and it will be totally removed. Let it go.
On the panel we were working on, the date and time have been removed.
We can repeat this process for other time and date widgets. Just add them to the panel, and remove them from the panel. Hold down until we feel the vibration, then move up to the word "REMOVE" until it turns red.
This then concludes our tutorial on how to add and remove the time and date from a panel or home screen of an HTC One M8.
