Add and Transition Clips in Corel VideoStudio X8
Edited by Colette Cole, Crystal, Eng, Anonymous
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to add and transition clips together in Corel VideoStudio Pro X8. Our VideoStudio is already open and we have a clip ready, so let's begin.
If we wanted to add another file, we would click on "File", then hover over "Insert Media File to Timeline".
We will be adding a photo to this video.
We will select the photo and click on "Open".
The photo will be inserted to the timeline. With photos, we can decide how long we want it to show for.
We can click the edge of the photo in the timeline and drag it to change the duration.
If we do this with a video, we can reduce or cut off the video.
Now we have our video and photo together, so we need to click on "Project" to preview it.
If we click on "Clip" we will just see them individually.
The video will play, then just pop into the next scene, which, in this case, is the photo of the chili.
We want this to transition a little smoother.
In the center, we can see a menu bar, and we should click on the 3rd option from the top, "Transition".
The icon has "AB" on it.
We will see many different transitions playing.
Simply click on the wanted transition and drag it between the two clips.
We are currently hovering between the two clips, and when we release, it will show the transition between the two clips.
Now to make sure that it worked, we can play the project.
It has transitioned with the checkerboard pattern. It's a very short transition.
If we want the transition to be a bit longer, we can simply click and drag the edge of it.
The transition will now be longer.
We can do this with various things such as videos, photos, audio, and subtitles.
We can transition anything we want. We could just leave them alone and not add a transition if we don't want it.
To delete a transition, click on it and press the "Delete" button on the keyboard, or right-click it and click "Delete".
That is how you add and transition clips together in Corel VideoStudio X8.
