You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to add site map to our Wordpress page.
To do this, we'll log into our administrator site of Wordpress.
Once we get to our dashboard, we'll make sure to click "Plugins" in the bottom-left part of the pane.
Once the "Plugins" page loads, we'll click on "Add New".
We search for "Google xml".
We'll click "Install Now" next to "Google XML Sitemaps".
We choose to install it now. This program has over 1 million of active installations. We can note that this is a quite popular tool.
We click "Activate Plugin".
We'll see that the plugin will be activated.
We go to the settings.
We hover the mouse cursor over "Settings".
Then, we click "XML-Sitemap".
The page will show where site map is located.
We click the URL next to "The URL to your sitemap index file is".
We copy the URL in the navigation bar.
Now, we can go to "Google Search Console".
Formerly, it was called "Google Webmaster Tools".
We click on the first site in this tutorial.
From "Search Console", we click "Crawl".
We can click "ADD/TEST SITEMAP".
We copy the end of the URL, "sitemap.xml".
We paste it into the "Add/Test Sitemap" box.
We close the "Sitemap" test by clicking "Close sitemap test".
We use the same "sitemap.xml" in the "Add/Test Sitemap" box.
We click "Submit Sitemap" now.
We click "Refresh the page."
In this video, there is an old site map, which we check.
We click "Delete" to delete it now.
That was how to add a site map using the "Google XML Sitemaps" plugin as well as "Google Search Console". If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the space below.
