Tips and Suggestions for Adding Exchange on your S5

This hides their personal account details while at work, in the event a co worker or IT technician wants to look at their phone, or change a setting. If you'd like to do this, you can visit this article to learn how to set private mode on your Samsung Galaxy S5. There is also a link at the beginning of that article that will show you how to hide and show files in private mode.
  • You will receive notifications of new mail in the notifications panel. To view them, simply swipe down from the top of your device to open the Notifications Panel.

Questions and Answers

Having 2 Microsoft Exchange email accounts on phone?

I have my personal email through the Microsoft Exchange email account, and I'd like to add my work. However I can only have my work through a Microsoft exchange account. Is it possible to have two different accounts on my phone, without them syncing together and have different icons?

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

Yes, you can run multiple Exchange accounts on your phone, and no, there isn't any problem with syncing them. Quite a few people use Exchange for business, with a separate personal Exchange account. If you find that you are not happy with Samsung, there are a great many options on the Google Play Store / Android Store, where you can also set up multiple Exchange accounts.

Setting up separate icons can be done by using separate applications to check the accounts. Otherwise, you will receive notifications in the bar, and can log into the last account you used. Obviously you want to make sure your business and personal sent messages don't overlap, so using separate icons is likely the most ideal solution for you. Plus, the visually different interfaces will further help differentiate between your accounts.

Problem with my Galaxy 5 and my work Microsoft Exchange Account?

When my phone is connected to my work Office Exchange Account, it is creating a folder called "Unwanted". All Emails from my inbox, go straight to this folder and I do not see them as unread in my inbox. I have not created any special rules in the Email settings allowing this. When my work IT dept. temporarily disabled the phone from the account, my Emails worked fine and stayed in the inbox. I tried deleting the account and then adding it again. The problem came right back. Any ideas to help me with this? IT dept will not look at my phone settings and I have removed the Account list of my phone.
