    To begin, ensure you have Adobe Illustrator open and your document ready.

    Select the object to add crop marks to by using the "Selection Tool".
    It is the black arrow in the top-left corner of the tool bar. You can also use other selection tools if you have more complicated objects. Again, there are other VisiHow tutorials on how to do that.

    We click the yellow circle to which we want to add crop marks.
    A blue frame will appear around the object, indicating it is selected and ready for editing.

    Click "Effects" on the top left-hand side of the screen.

    Click "Crop Marks" within the "Illustrator Effects" section.
    Illustrator then adds crop marks to the selected object. Crop marks are really useful for creating an image to be screen printed. They will help you to align several images once the document is printed.
