It is really hard to tell: motherboards can be picked as very identical to each other, making OS reinstallation redundant. Unless BIOS versions differ and you remember the number of the previous one or unless you have recorded the serial number, it is often nigh to impossible to tell the difference. To check the serial number of the motherboard, press the Windows key, type "cmd", and press "Enter". Then, type this command:

WMIC baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version,serial number

You will get the name and the serial number of your current motherboard. If you have the previous motherboard serial number saved somewhere (for example, in a manual), then you can tell if it was replaced.

My acer laptop is not taking power, even it is plugged to the socket, is it a symptom of a dead motherboard?

While removing the damaged speakers of Acer aspire v3 571g, a steel blade fell above the motherboard.. and that time the laptop was directly connected to AC 220V without battery, after a second laptop got switched off and not showing any current or any lights? Is there any possibilities of motherboard got spoiled? After a blade fell on my laptop motherboard it stopped working is there is any possibilities where my power IC got damaged or the entire motherboard? I have tried: I tried swapping the RAM slot, removed the battery and installed again, checked the adapter it is fine. I think it was caused by: I think when a blade fell on my laptop motherboard it got short circuited and power IC got spoiled

A laptop stopped at the finger ID driver point then after no lights on the laptop, not even the charging one?

Brought is to a tech place. They said it probably is an EEPROM circuit that contains the BIOS. Would that appear as having no power responses? Or would be the motherboard's power supply being at fault if the power port that plugs in the power was fine? Should I mention this to the tech if so? Some fizz from soda went onto the keyboard. The keyboard worked fine still after that but the laptop failed to turn itself on. Differentiate power issues for BIOS vs power issues with a bad power supply of a laptop. I have tried: Send the unit to the manufacturer who said it is a motherboard level issue, but wanted a big deposit to "repair" it with a 90-day warranty if fixing the board. I think it was caused by: A glass of soda fizzed over the glass edge and went onto the keyboard area.

HP Envy 17t-k200 no power, won't turn on with battery or power supply cord?

Worked fine yesterday, today no power. Tried alternate power supply and cord, and other outlets, nothing. Trying to figure out if it is the motherboard and approximately how much it would cost to buy a new motherboard for this computer (is it worth it to fix). I have tried: We do not know what to try. We are told it is likely the motherboard. We tried to different power supply cords, in different outlets, with and without battery. The machine will not turn on at all. It is a brick. I think it was caused by: Again, based on what we have found on the internet and from two repair people we talked to, the is most likely the motherboard. Could be the power button board, but highly unlikely. We are trying to figure out how much a new motherboard for this machine costs, where we might be able to purchase it, and if it makes sense to do that or to buy a new computer based on the price.

Sir, my (Dell) laptop once fell off the study table as my brother tried to get off the bed meanwhile entangling his leg in the charger wire. The laptop functioned well for 2-3 days, (The screen did not crack or any physical visible damage was seen.) After that it did not take any power supply and it did not get charge. A small metal like something was seen attached to CPU fan, and since then it is a box?

I have explained this to a computer repairing shop. He said that the motherboard is crushed to pieces .Sir what's the remedy. Will the repair be too expensive?
